CES 2025: Our 25 Favorite Home Tech Products
This year’s CES felt more like incremental innovation – especially in the smart home space – but what we did see really encouraged us. It means that these companies are listening to their customers and taking their feedback seriously.
We also saw some fun and functional ideas to keep us safer, healthier and entertained.
In celebration of 2025 – here are our top 25 favorites from this year’s CES.

Securam Gate Lock
We have had smart locks and security all around our home for years but never on our backyard gate. So we were really excited to learn about the Securam Gate Lock which is designed specifically for outdoor gates, not normal home doors.
The Gate Lock has an anti-tamper design that is weatherproof, durable and easy to use. It’s perfect to add to your backyard gate, fence or other outdoor area. It’s expected to be available later this year. Visit their website for more information.
Tombot Jennie Robotic Companion
I still can’t stop thinking about Jennie. I think I kind of fell in love with her at the show.
Jennie is a robotic companion, in the form of a golden retriever lap puppy. She doesn’t walk around, fetch or do tricks but she does have very realistic fur and expressions, and she responds when you pet her.
Jennie’s creator, the founder of Tombot, was inspired to create a robotic dog after his mother was forced to give up her beloved pet after she was diagnosed with dementia. They have been testing prototypes for years and have evolved the design based on the feedback.
Jennie responds to voice commands and features real puppy sounds. On the technical side, she is also packed with sensors, and includes a rechargeable battery and a smartphone app.
Tombot sold out of their first litter but you can visit their website to get on the waiting list for your own puppy.
Backup by BioLite
If you live somewhere that has a lot of power outages like we do in California, you probably worry most about your refrigerator and keeping all your food from spoiling.
Backup by BioLite is an automatic backup system that you can install yourself that will provide 30 to 60 hours of power to keep your refrigerator running during an outage.
It’s designed to fit seamlessly behind your fridge but you could also install it in your home office, bedroom or anywhere else you need emergency power.
You can reserve yours now through their website and it is expected to ship this summer.
Wonder Blocks and Petal
Wonder is the new name for the company that invented the Bird Buddy feeder with the built-in camera. This year at CES they had a beautiful booth covered in plants and flowers to show off their two new products, Petal and Wonder Blocks.
Petal is a camera designed to blend right in with nature. It looks like a flower with stems, includes a solar panel and can be placed in your garden in many different ways. Once it’s there you can explore and better connect with nature, and even have a conversation with your yard.
Wonder Blocks can make Petal even better by creating tailored spaces to attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators. You can plant things yourself or use special seed blocks. The blocks would be great for small spaces like balconies and porches or spread out throughout your yard to create your own natural worlds.
Both Petal and Wonder Blocks are expected to launch this spring exclusively on Kickstarter. Visit their website to learn more.
Vasco Q1 Translator
We met the Vasco team last year at CES and were really amazed by their language translating earbuds. They sent us their standalone Vasco V4 Translator and we were able to use it on a trip to Poland and do a review.
This year the Vasco Translator E1 Earbuds are shipping and Vasco demonstrated their next version of their handheld device, the Vasco Translator Q1. It’s half the size of the V4 and it not only translates your conversation, it can speak the translation in your own voice. You have to hear it to believe it.
The Q1 Translator is expected later this year. Visit their website for more information.
Form Smart Swim 2 Goggles
If you have ever tracked your swimming with a watch you know that it’s not that accurate. Plus you can’t see how you’re doing until you are out of the pool.
The Form Smart Swim 2 goggles feature an augmented reality display right inside the goggles to show you real-time metrics including your heart rate right in the pool.
You can use the core product for free or upgrade to a subscription for more advanced features like coached workouts, training plans and my favorite – SwimStraight – a built in digital compass for open water swimming.
You can buy the Smart Swim 2 from their website, Amazon and at many Apple stores.
BLUETTI Handsfree 2 Backpack Power Station
Bluetti makes sustainable power solutions for home and outdoor use. At CES this year, we really loved the BLUETTI Handsfree 2 Backpack Power Station. It’s an ergonomic all-in-one backpack packed with an ultra-slim power station that can power all your gear on the go, with accessible solar panels to keep you charged up in the sunshine.
It’s a great solution built for outdoor photographers and creators, with modular storage and quick access to the stuff you need.
The Backpack Power Station 2 is available now through their website and on Amazon.
LIVALL PikaBoost 2
Whether you are an experienced road cyclist or just have an old bike gathering dust in the garage, you can turn your bike into an e-bike with the LIVALL PikaBoost 2.
The PikaBoost 2 attaches to the rear seat post and gives you just the boost you need based on your cycling style: Power Assist Mode for getting up those hills, Eco Assist mode for longer battery life, Workout Mode for fitness enthusiasts and Cruise Mode that will give you a steady ride.
CES recognized the PikaBoost 2 with an Innovation Award in the Sustainability and Energy/Power category.
The PikaBoost 2 is expected to start shipping later this year. Visit their website for more information.
Smart Lamps
While we love our smart light strips and panels, sometimes you just want to plug in a lamp to get the look you want. These were two of our favorites from CES.
Lepro TB2 AI RGB Table Lamp
The Lepro TB2 AI RGB Table Lamp lets you tweak the lighting however you like it – manually using their app, syncing it with music, or using its built-in AI voice control to pick lighting based on your mood or imagintion.
We prefer the musical note version but it also comes in a planetary shape.
It’s available to purchase now from their website or on Amazon.
Govee Uplighter Floor Lamp
If you prefer a floor lamp, you will love the Govee Uplighter. It’s a tall Matter-enabled smart light with upper and lower-facing panels to create a unique look. You can use the top to create ambient effects for the entire room and/or turn the lower light bright white for reading.
We really liked the Northern Lights effects that Govee was showing in their booth and can’t wait to try that at home.
The Uplighter Floor Lamp is expected to ship later this year. Visit their website for more information.
AC Future AI Transformer Home
We usually don’t like to feature the same product two years in a row, but we decided to make an exception for AC Future.
Last year they were in a tiny booth near the bathrooms and we had to imagine what they were trying to build through a virtual reality headset.
This year they completed their prototype AI-THd (AI Transformer Home Drivable) in time for CES, drove it onto the show floor and had a steady line of people lining up to walk inside.
The AI Transformer Home Driveable is a self-sustaining small RV that expands to 400 square feet of living space. It’s powered by solar and rechargeable batteries, generates its own water and has an elegant design inside and out. Plus it is surprisingly quiet inside.
AC Future is planning three different models of the transformer house. The first version will be a flexible home that can be built into its own platform. The second version will be a 24-foot transformer home trailer, and the final product will be this all-in-one drivable vehicle.
AC Future is taking reservations now for all three models on their website and expects to start shipping in 2026.
Spicerr AI Spice Dispenser
Any cook knows that the right spices can make all the difference in your cooking, and the fresher the better. Experts suggest replacing your home spices every six months to a year, but how many of you have 15-year old nutmeg in your cabinet?
The founders of Spicerr are on a mission to make personalized gourmet cooking accessible to everyone. The dispenser holds 6 airtight capsules at a time, and dispenses just the right amount based on the recipe from the included app. Over time, it will use AI to better understand your preferences and tailor spices just how you and your family like it.
Spicerr will be launching on Kickstarter soon.
Tweke Tap
While we love controlling our home with automation and using our voice assistants, sometimes there is nothing better than a smart panel to control your devices.
The most elegant one we saw at CES this year was from a British company, Tewke, with their smart Tap panel. It replaces a light switch with a small, elegant panel packed with sensors that you can swipe to turn things on and off, monitor your temperature, energy usage and more.
The company’s focus is on saving energy and they are already partnering with Octopus, a leading energy provider in the UK, to install the devices into homes and provide detailed insights and recommendations to save money and help the environment. They plan to integrate with other smart home devices using the Matter standard.
You can join the waiting list for your own Tap by visiting their website. They hope to bring it to the US market soon.
InvisiOutlet Pro
The InvisiOutlet Pro wants to pack every room in your home with smart sensors through their innovative smart power outlet.
The outlet itself includes two controllable outlets but the cover plate is where all the smarts are. It includes a temperature, humidity, air quality, motion and occupancy sensors, ambient light monitoring and a built-in nightlight. It is Matter-compatible and works with all the major smart home platforms including Apple Home, Alexa, Google Assistant and MQTT-based platforms like Home Assistant.
You can pre-order the InvisiOutlet Pro now through their website.
Lockin Veno 7 Smart Lock
The smart lock market continues to grow every year and we are always amazed to see the new ideas and innovations at CES. There were a few on our radar this year but our favorite was the Lockin Veno 7.
The Lockin Veno 7 unlocks with a palm scan, reading our unique vein patterns that are nearly impossible to replicate. They claim a 0.17 second response time based on their testing – we didn’t time it but it really was incredibly fast when we tried it.
The lock has local storage, a built-in camera, a solar-powered battery and looks elegant too. It’s coming soon and you can sign up on their website for more information.
Peto Windy Window
We saw lots of products for pet parents at CES but my favorite was the Windy Window from Peto. You know how dogs love to hang their head out the car window and feel the cool breeze? You can create this experience for your dog with your own wind maker.
The Windy WIndow was designed by artists, musicians and engineers and creates a strong airflow from up to 1.5 meters away and also produces low-frequency sounds only your pet can hear. Peto recommends you use it at least three times a day for up to 15 minutes for each session.
We doubt cats would be down with this but expect most dogs would love it. You will have to love your dog a lot to spend $399.
The Windy Window is currently sold out on the Peto website but you can sign up to get notified when it is available
Beatbot Docking Station
In the past two years there has been tremendous innovation in the pool cleaner space and this year at CES was no exception. We saw many different vendors showing off new products or prototypes for pool robots. It makes sense because everyone would rather spend more time enjoying their pool instead of cleaning it.
We have tested one of these so far and after that experience, we were most excited to see Beatbot’s automated docking station demo. After the robot is done cleaning or needs a charge, it automatically climbs out of the pool and goes back to its dock to get ready for the next cleaning.
The docking station is an early prototype and Beatbot has not announced a product name or timeline. We hope to see it make it to market sometime soon.
SwitchBot Multitasking Household Robot K20+ Pro
We always love visiting the SwitchBot booth because they seem to really listen to their customers and come up with innovative ideas to make their lives easier.
This year they were demonstrating their K20+ Pro multi-tasking robot that can not only keep your floor clean, but it can also monitor your home, your pets, and keep your air clean throughout your homes.
At the core of the K20+ Pro is the FusionPlatform, a mobile platform that physically connects a mini-robot vacuum with other smart home devices from SwitchBot, like their security cameras or the air purifier. It may not be feasible for you to have an air purifier in every room, but the K20+ Pro could move it from room to room to clean the air for you, whether you are home or not.
You will be able to buy the K20+ Pro in a number of different combinations starting later this year.
Hormometer by Eli Health
Our hormones regulate nearly every aspect of our health and imbalances can cause many different issues and have wide ranging effects. Testing hormone levels in a lab is usually costly and time consuming, and patients have to wait weeks for the results.
Eli Health has addressed this challenge with five years of research by developing an at-home hormone test using your saliva and a smartphone.
Using a specially designed cartridge, you simply place it in your mouth for 60 seconds like a thermometer, and in 20 minutes you can have your results that you can read and monitor over time with the companion smart phone app.
Eli Health has started with two key hormones – Cortisol, the “stress hormone” and Progesterone, essential for reproductive and overall health. The beta program has already launched and the full release is expected later this year. You can learn more by visiting their website.
Aurzen ZIP Tri-Fold Projector
We have tested portable projectors in the past but the Aurzen ZIP is the first one that looks to be truly mobile.
The Zip folds down to store in a tiny space smaller than most smartphones. Then you can unfold it and it becomes its own projector stand, so you can get it set up and working almost anywhere.
It delivers up to 1.5 hours of viewing time in a single charge, can mirror content from iOS, Android, Mac and Windows devices without connecting to Wi-Fi, and it automatically adjusts to the vertical or horizontal content, so you can play your Reels for your friends right out of the box.
The Aurzen ZIP Projector won a 2025 CES Innovation Award and the project is available to back on Kickstarter.
ShiftCam PLANCK SSD Drive
As content creators we are always filming on the go with our iPhones. And those video files take up a lot of space, especially filming in 4K. It never seems like there is enough space on our phones and laptops to store all this media.
The ShiftCam PLANCK is a tiny 10 gram SSD drive that can plug right into the phone via USB-C, read/write at blazing speeds and store 1 or 2 terabytes of data.
PLANCK will be launching on Kickstarter at the beginning of February and is expected to be widely available online in the spring.
PreEvnt isaac Blood Glucose Monitor
We have reviewed several charging and audio products from SCOSCHE and were surprised this year to see them move into a new direction with their subsidiary, PreEvnt, to launch the isaac Blood Glucose Monitor.
Issac is named for the inventor’s grandson who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of two. It is a non-invasive device that measures blood glucose levels through breath readings.
Similar to how service dogs can sniff and react to high blood glucose levels in their owners, the isaac is designed to analyze the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in breath and provide a reading that can be measured and tracked with a companion app.
The device is currently in development and under FDA review and is not yet for sale. You can sign up for updates on their website.
Mij Smart Clothing
By now we are all used to wearable technology like smart watches, rings, shoe pods, etc. We’ve seen smart clothing prototypes too over the years but the Mij (pronounced Me) system from Voormi was the best we’ve seen yet.
The Mij athletic shirt has sensors embedded in it to track your body temperature, humidity and thermal load. It’s great for first responders, military, athletes and anyone who wants to get additional insights about their health.
Best of all, it requires no extra bulk and you can throw it in the washer just like all your other athletic clothing.
Mij clothing is expected to launch later this year. You can sign up to learn more on their website.
DREO PolyFan 707S
Fans can help keep us cool and comfortable in our homes. We’ve seen plenty of smart fans over the years, including ones with temperature sensors and apps, but we think a fan should just cool well out of the box, so that’s why we loved the DREO PolyFan 707S.
The fan includes built-in millimeter-wave radar that senses people in the room and directs the air towards them automatically. If you still need to adjust it, you can just use the elegant and intuitive controls right on the base.
The DREO PolyFan 707S is expected to start shipping in May of this year.
SoberRide
We happened to see the team from SoberRide on the hotel shuttle during the week but we didn’t get a chance to meet them until the last day of the show.
They are high school students from Cary, North Carolina and they came to Eureka Park to show off their prototype device to help prevent drunk driving.
We wish them all the best with their invention!
That’s a wrap for our favorites from this year’s CES. We look forward to reviewing many of these and letting you know how they really work. Stay tuned!
