A Massive New Ceiling Light: Govee Sky Ceiling Light Review
Lots of companies make colored bulbs and light strips, but recently Govee has been making standalone light fixtures that seamlessly blend into your home decor rather than looking like tech gadgets.

Most recently they have been adding ceiling lights that can replace boring old fixtures with lighting effects that can brighten up the entire room.
At the IFA 2026 trade show in Berlin, Govee launched the Sky Ceiling Light, a massive 21-inch fixture designed to illuminate large spaces while mimicking natural daylight. After getting an early preview at CES, we were eager to put it to the test.
Although the fixture proved too heavy for a permanent installation in our space, Mark wired it up to test its full functionality and lighting effects.
Three Adjustable Lights
The Sky Ceiling Light features three separate lights that you can customize to fit your mood or task:
- An inside ring
- An outside ring
- A large middle light
You can choose from numerous built-in presets or instruct Govee AI to generate custom lighting scenes for you.
Smart Home Integration
Managing the light fixture is simple and versatile, supporting:
- The Govee mobile app
- Amazon Alexa
- Matter-compatible smart home hubs
Other Govee Lighting Options
If the Sky Ceiling Light is too big for your space or you’d rather just have a nice looking floor lamp instead, Govee has a lot of other great lighting options.
We love our Govee Uplighter that creates a vibrant Northern Lights effect across the ceiling and our Tree Floor Lamp that adjusts and has scenes perfect for reading.
These Govee lamps also include Matter integration, extensive lighting effects options with the Govee app, as well as the Govee AI to make effects for you. We love both the fun and functional options in our home.
